Crackled glaze jar with enamels and brown mark
I found the most wonderful piece today. I just wanted to share it with you, and get you knowledge and wisdom on the piece. I think you will like this one. I believe it to be Japanese.

Chinese Guangxu (1875-1908) period jar
Thank you for sharing your nice jar with me. It is Chinese and most probably made in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province as an export piece. The marks says Chenghua Nian Zuo (Chenghua Period Made) but the jar actually dates to the Guangxu (1875-1908) period or possibly a few years later. The crackled glaze is of a Song dynasty type called "Ge".
It it specifically this combination of "fencai" enamels on a crackled ground, an etched brown border or borders, and the typical etched brown mark that gives it away. It is very typical and the question is, if this typ of pieces could not be called a "Familly" of their own.
